An Introduction to Channel Sinews - With James Woodward
Dates: Saturday 21st March & Sunday 22nd March 2026
Times: Saturday 9.30am - 5.00pm, Sunday 10am-5pm
Location: The City College of Acupuncture
Cost: £250.00
CPD - 16 hours 30 minutes : All participants will receive a certificate on completion of the workshop, PowerPoint slides, handouts on the channel sinews and moxibustion.
This two-day workshop is designed to show all participants how to locate the source of muscular-skeletal (MSK) issues, and to demonstrate the necessary skills required to address the channel sinew system within Chinese medicine.
The channel sinews are the tendons, muscles, joints and connective tissues (including the fascia). Understanding the role played by the fascia, and pathologies of the channel sinews, is integral for pain relief, and for helping to heal MSK injuries.
James has spent 5 years researching the channel sinews, and he is now offering insight into how to address pain relief in patients.

Easy to get to by public transport, The City College is located on the edge of the trendy Hoxton and Shoreditch areas of London which have vibrant arts and entertainment districts with great places to eat, art galleries and bars. The Old Street area itself has recently been nicknamed “Silicon Roundabout’ and is a rapidly expanding centre for new companies specializing in computing, gaming, mobile apps and design.
Please check the TFL website (https://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/) before travelling to the College building as currently, there is a lot of construction inside the station and the roundabout.
How to get to The City College:
By London Underground and Overground trains:
The nearest station to the College is Old Street Station which is situated on the Northern Line (underground) and National Rail (overground).
Once you arrive at Old Street station, please follow signs to Subway 4/Exit 4, then walk forwards along City Road (where you can see two very tall buildings, the Atlas building and the M by Montcalm, which is a very angular triangle-shaped building, in front). After approximately 80 yards, at the traffic lights, take the right fork into East Road, walking along the right-hand side of the Atlas building. Keep walking for another 200 yards, and you will find The City College on your left.
